Terms & Conditions
-
Children 7 years and up may participate in trail rides. THIS POLICY CHANGED 07/22/22 Due to Minors being mis-declared by parent/guardian.
No double riding will be allowed and do not provide pony rides.
Any rider under 18 years old will be required to wear a helmet and will have parent or legal guardian’s signature on waiver. Click here to see our waiver.
Riders 18 Years old and older will be advised to wear a helmet or required to sign a release.
-
The time you booked is the ACTUAL DEPARTURE TIME of the ride. We ask that you check in 15 minutes prior to the departure time. On the day of your ride, please plan for traffic conditions and arrive in plenty of time to sign waivers and get to know the staff and your fellow riders. Rides can get backed up very quickly when just one group arrives late. If that has happened on the day of your ride, please be patient – we want everyone to have a great experience and unfortunately just can’t control late arrivals. Late arrivals may have reschedule for the next available time, space permitting. Please be on time.
Please park across the street from the office area along the road by the Restroom and Laundry building. We ask that you not park directly in front of office.
-
We (AZ High Mountain Trail Rides initiated) generally do not cancel. We ride, rain or shine, trails permitting. Should it rain or if the weather becomes an unsafe environment for horse and rider, a member of our team will contact you if you have provided a contact phone number. Occasionally we have the need to reschedule rides, this could happen at a moment’s notice, and in that case there we will try to accommodate you as best we can.
For all online bookings (this policy for all horseback rides only – not special group rides and events): Please note for a FULL Refund you must cancel 48 hours prior to scheduled ride date and time. Cancellation 24 – 48 hours we will refund half of the amount paid. If you cancel the same day or not show up for the ride there will be no money credited back for any reason.
If at any time you have a question regarding your reservation, please do not hesitate to contact us at 928-354-2359 or email Info@HighMountainTrailRides.com at any time.
-
At the time of your ride, you are required to fill out a waiver. Click Here to Read our Waiver. You will not be allowed to ride if you fail to complete the waiver.
For children, the parent or court appointed legal guardian must complete the waiver or the child may not ride. Grandparents or other relative that is not the biological parent cannot complete the waiver regardless if parent is with child or not. THERE ARE TWO SIDES THAT MUST BE COMPLETED FOR A CHILD TO RIDE.
For all riders of any age we highly recommended wearing a helmet.
We choose your horses based on your level of riding experience and your height & weight. Should it appear that what was given to us at the time of the reservation is not what we see, we will do our best to provide another horse, however we may cancel the ride should a horse not be available for your need. Understand that our horses do not stand at a tether pole all day waiting for our guests. They are comfortable in their homes until it is time to prepare for the ride ahead of them. If the wrangler must prepare another horse, the trail ride will be pushed back 15-20 minutes.
If you do not follow the guidelines and safety rules provided by the wrangler at the time of the demonstration while on the horse, then the wrangler does have the authority to stop the ride and return home. In this event, you will not be refunded your money.
Please remember each rider needs their own completed waiver form!
-
Please note we can only honor one special offering during a visit. If you have questions regarding any of our specials, please email Info@HighMountainTrailRides.com or call 928-354-2359. Reservations are strongly recommended and will ensure booking time and availability of horseback ride.
Additional rides that we may provide are considered Special Rides. Anything listed on the Specials Page is considered a Special and cannot be combined with any other offers.
Our Specials may only be available for a specified period of time. Please note the Specials are not available around holiday.
Our Special and Regular Prices include taxes; however wrangler gratuities are not included. If you enjoy your ride, tip your guide. Hope to see you soon!
-
We sell Gift Cards in increments of $50 each (or you may customize the amount online). Please note we DO NOT give change back from these items. There are no refunds on gift certificates purchased through our website, at our office, or given as a donation to a cause. Gift Certificates purchased are good for one year of the purchased date.
-
All of our rides are open to the public. You may be on a ride with other people scheduled at that same time. We clearly post our current times on our home page with the ability to book online.
At special times of the year we run additional rides. These work on a month to month basis and can be found under the Specials Page of our website at any time.
Please note WE DO NOT RUN our horses due to the rocky mountain terrain, ground burrowing animals and wildlife for the riders’ and horses’ safety. You must listen to and remain with our staff at all times.
-
We do advise anyone that has traumas, (such as injuries to back, limbs, knees, or head) do not ride as it may become aggravated by the ride. Any person with a medical condition should notify us at time of reservation to see if this activity is suitable for them. Sorry, we do not allow pregnant women on the rides for their and the baby’s safety.
Our weight limits are based on height-weight ratios, but are not exact. Generally the maximum weight is 250 lbs up to 6 feet tall and 275 lbs for the folks over 6 feet tall. You must be able to manage and handle your own weight, loading yourself from the ground onto the horse with little assistance from our staff.
We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. During your ride you must listen to and follow all instruction from our staff. Failure to do so could result in early termination of the ride however you will still be responsible for payment in full.

If you know that you will not be able to make it out to see us, please call to let us know. This will keep us from having to prepare horses that will not be used.
