Our guide was very nice, giving a lot of info on the history of the region where we were. A big smile on his face and very polite. This was a perfect horseback ride, with the pine forest aroud us in the mountain.i recommend them

Lorenzo was a great guide. We did the 30 min trail ride for our 9th wedding anniversary. It was picturesque and captivating to see the forest on horseback. Very memorable!

The owner took me on a 90-minute ride yesterday through some of Northern AZ's most beautiful territory! He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The horses are also beautiful, well taken care of and have great temperaments. Highly recommend for families and kids.

AZ High Mountain Trail Rides, a FAMILY OWNED business, was amazing! If you’re nervous about riding or have little experience, don’t be! Robert, my guide and wrangler, made me feel comfortable, safe, and kept me entertained while on the ride. My only concern was the lack of mounting block-- though Robert was able to help me up. The horses were well cared for and clearly loved. They have two locations-- Phoenix and near Mormon Lake. I chose the latter and the drive up from was beautiful and easy (don’t let the directions on the website scare you, my Waze app brought me right where I needed to be). Highly recommend!

Our guide Cameron was friendly and knowledgeable. He knew so much about the horses, the land and the history of the people that had shaped it. The horses were gentle and didn't required much prompting. Whether you are experienced with horses or if it will be your first time in the saddle, you will have a great time at AZ High Mountain Trail Rides.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Robert, Ray, and Cameron took this experience from great to amazing. So patient, calm, and friendly with our kiddo that was scared; best I’ve ever seen with convincing my son to try something new. Learned a lot about the trail and the horses! Bonus, we showed up on the wrong day and they made it work with a smile. 100% recommend!

Lorenz and Robert (hope I got the names right guys) were amazing! Lot of experience and lot of good vibes. The horses are treated very good and the trip we had were very immersive into the wild. I 100% raccomand was the best 1h of the whole day thank you! Definitely will come back if I have the chance.

A very beautiful trail and friendly competent guides. I needed a lot of help getting up on a beautiful horse named Frankie. I'm thankful they were able to get me up on him for a good experience.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trail ride. We are inexperienced and Cameron made us feel comfortable by giving us appropriate horses and keeping an eye on us. He is also quite knowledgeable about the area.

Really exceptional horseback riding outfit. Robert is super professional with great customer service. Horses are all well-behaved and well taken care of. My group of 6 did the 90 minute ride through the pines. Fantastic ride led by Cameron, who shared lots of history about the region. The online portal was easy to use, communication was responsive, and the instructions in the confirmation emails were spot on.

This was a fantastic outing for me and my family! We all came into town from Cleveland, OH on the first family vacation we've had in over 20 years, and I carefully researched each horseback riding option near Flagstaff, where we stayed. High Mountain Trail Rides didn't disappoint! Our guide was funny, very knowledgeable, super friendly and just the best. The horses were well taken care of, gentle, and sweet. Even my 7 year old nieces felt no fear riding them through the forest. And such a beautiful trail they bring you on! Couldn't say enough good things about this company and these horses. Fantastic and definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Fun experience for first time riders! Robert was our guide & he was very friendly & informative! We are bringing our kids next time, so we can all ride! We did the 1 hour ride & the it was perfect! Weather was great & very relaxing

I took 4 children on this ride at Mormon Lake and it was awesome, worth every penny. The workers/guides are the nicest people and really care for the guests. They make sure everyone is safe and comfortable. The horses are well behaved and calm. You will not be disappointed. Best experience on a horseback you’ll find.

Excellent trip for the price. The guide was very friendly and adherent to the guidelines set by the website. They communicated with us before the trip and let us know what to expect. The horses were majestic and beautifully groomed. They were gentle giants with the temperament of a loving pet. Second to none was the setting of low rising mountains in the distance like something out of a Wild West movie. The trail itself was small rocky paths carved through the shade of ancient pine trees. Between the whistling of the wind and the singing of the birds we enjoyed the peace only found in nature. If you’re looking for a relaxing slow paced stroll through a secluded forest this would be the ride for you. The 90 minute ride was great and offered us a chance to take in plenty of the scenery.

Very glad we chose this company. Cameron was our guide and was great. A really nice 2 hour ride through forest and pines. Cameron shared lots of knowledge with us along the way. Would do again for sure🙂🙂

Took my two teenage daughters for a 90 minute trail ride. We loved the experience and the horses. Our guide, Chris, did an awesome job of making everyone comfortable and happy. We will be back again.

What a fun experience for my husband & I! Our horses were sweet and gentle, the trail guide friendly & knowledgeable, and the trail we did was beautiful (90 minute Navajo Springs ride). This is a great way to experience the Mormon Lake area!

I went on a 2 hour ride with Jackie the wrangler. The ride was absolutely breathtaking! The horses were well-trained and responsive. They appeared healthy and happy. Jackie made the ride an incredible experience. She was always in tune with both the rider and the horse, and she was friendly and knowledgeable! All of my questions were answered ahead of time by Robert who was extremely helpful, and was very courteous. Happy Trails!🤠

We pulled up without a reservation, and AZ High Mountain Trail Rides fit us in right then and there. I would definitely recommend reserving ahead of time, but it was so nice to feel so well taken care of. My kids would have been sorely disappointed if we couldn't ride. The forest trail was right across the street, and it had lovely greenery and a little bit of water in the stream. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped my kids feel at ease. Plus, she took pictures. Would definitely recommend!

i loved it so much! the people were so nice and had actual intriguing conversations with me and my friends , the horse , cowboy , was very nice to ride and overall it was really fun

What a wonderful day! My grandson (15) had never ridden a horse so we surprised him. He's a good-sized football player so he got to ride Fiona. He talked about Fiona and the ride for the rest of the day. I attribute all of this to the wonderful wranglers. Sidney took us out on the 60-minute ride, and she made us all feel so relaxed, like we did this every week. Robert and Cameron are equally awesome. The horses were healthy and sure footed and we will definitely be repeat customers. The grandson wants a horse now and cannot wait to learn to 'go faster'. the staff here was super friendly and personable. cameron was a great guide, very entertaining and knowledgeable. we really enjoyed learning about the history of the area. if we are ever back in the area we will be riding again! would highly recommend.

My favorite place to ride horses. Great horses and great wranglers! Very knowledgeable about the area, which includes Navajo Springs, the old railroad berm and a section of the Arizona Trail — beautiful scenery. I felt very comfortable and had a great ride!

The wrangler Robert was Amazing with small children and beginners. Definitely worth the money for a family experience. All of the equipment, including helmets, was in pristine condition and the horses were easy to ride.

I booked with AZ High Mountain Trail Rides for a birthday present for my mom and we all loved it! Sydney our guide was amazing and knew so much about our horses and the Mormon Lake area. I hope to do it again someday!

We spent the weekend in wonderful Mormon Lake and took the kids on the 60 minute ride. Robert was an excellent guide, the horses were great, and the scenery was outstanding. Highly recommend. This is well worth the short and scenic 30 min drive from Flagstaff.

We took a 2 hour ride with Robert. He was friendly, knowledgeable and just over all amazing. His wife checked us in and she equally as nice and fun to talk to. Cisco, was the horse I rode and Daisey was the horse my daughter rode a d both were very well trained and well mannered. Thank you Robert for the great ride and we will be back again.

My daughter and I had booked a 11:30am trail ride but had some car troubles on the way up from Phoenix. We called the stable and they happily rebooked us for a 1:30 ride. When we finally made it up, the team at AZ High Mountain Trail Rides was so welcoming and glad that we were able to make it. Mason was our guide through the beautiful surrounding forest and he was amazing and so much fun to talk to. He gave us lots of fun info about the area and made the ride really chill, which we needed! The horses were so sweet, the whole experience was great! We would highly recommend AZ High Mountain Trail Rides and will definitely be back.

We had a great experience! Robert was helpful on the phone, the check in was smooth, and Bloss was great on the ride! Dollar did a great job as well 🙂 Will be checking out the ranch for another ride in the valley in the fall/winter.

We had a great and memorable experience with AZ High Mountain. Our drive to and from was beautiful lots of tees a big lake. Our guide was excellent! I believe his name was Matthew (my apologies if I got it wrong. I am bad with names), Very friendly and experienced. We road Blondie, Willow and Sugar (a mustang rescue). It was a very delightful trail through the green forest. Cool breeze flowing, no bugs or mosquitoes buzzing around. Our ride was cut short due to weather, which we got to say that they turned us around at exactly the perfect time or we would have gotten caught in the rain and we would have been drenched.. We would have returned the next morning, but we had to head out too early to be able to go back again. We will definitely stop by again next time we are in town. Great ride in the pines. Our guide, Sid, is fantastic, easygoing, and information. The kids enjoyed her company and immediately wanted to return.

We had the best guide- Sidney! Great location, we did the hour ride but wished we did it longer. This ride was great because it was shaded the entire time! Highly recommend!

I planned a camp up at Double Springs for a group of 20 people. AZ High Mountain Trail Rides was asked to do an hour ride for two groups of teenagers plus adults. They were amazing. We had a batch of novice riders that had never been on horses and our wranglers Robert and Mason were awesome. They loaded, reassured, entertained, and shepherded our groups on a real adventure. We have heard over and over how much our campers loved the ride. The girls have been begging to do it again next year. AZ High Mountain was extremely professional and were very in tune with our riders needs. I would highly recommend them and thank them for helping me to give my campers "THE BEST DAY EVER!".

Highly recommend! My wife had an amazing 1.5 hour private ride with Athena and Cowboy, this was one of the highlights of our trip. Robert was an extremely knowledgable and friendly guide, can't wait to visit again.
